Eco-Tours and Adventures

Included in your stay at Sueño Azul is a variety of eco-tours and adventures to give you an opportunity to see more of the beautiful Costa Rican countryside. Each week you have an opportunity to experience one-full day excursion and two half day excurisions, all of which are included in your package price.

Sueño Azul Waterfalls. Enjoy a rare opportunity to swim in natural pools within the "las cascadas," as you gaze upon the untouched beauty of the rain forest all around you. Travel along the three-mile trail by horseback, by mountain bike, on foot, or in a tractor-pulled cart to this hidden treasure. These spectacular cascades and natural pool formations are one of the most beautiful spots at Sueño Azul. There is also an 8,000 square-foot swimming pool fed by the crystal clear rain forest river, and a pavilion for lunch and cool drinks. Sueño Azul's dazzling butterfly garden is nearby.

Canopy Zip-Line. Sueño Azul has built its own canopy zipline, offering guests one of the most exciting and visually stunning experiences available in Cost Rica. With thirteen "stations" high in the trees of the jungle and with cable lines as high as 100 feet, you'll see the jungle canopy (where most of the jungle wildlife lives) as you've never seen it before. Sueño Azul's own guides will assist you along the way.

Sarapiquí Boat Tour. See monkeys, toucans, iguanas, alligators, caimans, sloths, bats, and other creatures of the Costa Rican jungle on this relaxing boat tour down the Rio Sarapiquí, a national monument. Winding through a region known as the land of "eternal spring," the Sarapiquí offers some of Costa Rica's most vibrant and lush tropical scenery. Website: oasisnaturetours.com

Sueño Azul Rain Forest Tour. Experience the amazing flora and fauna of the rain forest firsthand on Sueño Azul's own extensive network of trails. In addition to the natural wonders, a local nature guide brings the rain forest alive with sights, sounds, and stories.

Optional Excursions. There are other excursions that can be arranged for you on-site for an additional fee during, before, or after your stay at Sueño Azul. These may include a trip to natural hot springs, a rainforest aerial tram, a museum of indigenous cultures, the Biological Station at La Selva, San José, and other river tours and hikes.
