Fariba Enteshari


faculty member Fariba Enteshari was born in Shiraz, Iran, where she grew up with the poetry of Hafiz and Saadi, two famous Sufi poets. She was educated in Germany and the United States. Enteshari has studied the Mathnawi, a six-volume poem, in its original Farsi for 12 years with international Rumi scholars and has taught Rumi's teachings at the University of Southern California, Santa Barbara City College, and other institutions. Enteshari teaches courses on Rumi's poetry and philosophy, speaks at conferences and special engagements, and leads workshops and seminars on a regular basis. She directs the Rumi Educational Center, an interfaith, crosscultural, educational organization.
